About
Michael J. Irvine, PsyD
Licensed Clinical Psychologist · Oregon License #2648
I am an experienced mental health clinician specializing in supporting individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, shame, relationship stress, and addiction. My therapeutic approach is rooted in contextual behaviorism, which emphasizes understanding behavior within the context of an individual's environment.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a highly effective modality for addressing trauma and distressing life experiences. I primarily treat injured workers in Oregon and Washington, including many first responders who have experienced trauma or stress related to their work. I also often see health care workers such as registered nurses who have experienced occupational stress injuries like workplace assault or violence, as well as injured workers who were involved in a motor vehicle accident.
I am deeply familiar with the unique challenges faced by injured workers and provide tailored, evidence-based care to support their recovery and well-being. In addition to providing treatment, I also conduct Independent Medical Evaluations (IMEs) for stress injuries, offering objective assessments to inform appropriate care and support.
My clinical interests also encompass anxiety, depression, shame, spirituality and faith-related concerns, and self-esteem problems. I am committed to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences, develop resilience, and work toward meaningful change.
